Scope

This policy applies to the public website for Outage: Trespass, including the homepage, screenshot gallery, trailer section, Steam widget, press kit download and legal pages. The website is a static website. It does not provide user accounts, comments, newsletters, contact forms, online payments or its own analytics dashboard.

Short overview

The website does not intentionally set first-party analytics or marketing cookies. It uses locally hosted fonts. The screenshot gallery uses client-side JavaScript and loads full-size screenshots only when selected. The website embeds third-party content from Steam and YouTube, which can cause data to be transmitted to those providers when the page or embedded content is loaded. The website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages and delivered through Cloudflare's CDN.

Legal bases

Personal data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR where processing is necessary for our legitimate interest in providing a secure, stable and informative website. If visitors contact us, processing may also be based on Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR for pre-contractual or contractual communication. Where legal retention or cooperation duties apply, processing may be based on Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR. If consent is requested for a specific processing activity, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR applies.

Hosting and CDN: Cloudflare Pages

This website is hosted with Cloudflare Pages and delivered through the Cloudflare network. When visitors access the website, Cloudflare may process technical data required to deliver and secure the website. This can include IP address, requested URL, date and time of access, HTTP status, transferred data volume, browser and device information, referrer URL and security-related event data. Processing is carried out to deliver the website, improve loading speed, prevent abuse, detect attacks and maintain availability. Provider: Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. More information: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Server and CDN logs

Technical access data may be stored in server or CDN logs for security, troubleshooting, abuse prevention and operation of the website. Log data is generally used only for technical and security purposes. It is not used by us to personally identify visitors unless this is necessary to investigate abuse, attacks, errors or legal claims. Retention depends on the hosting and CDN configuration; security-relevant data may be retained longer where required for investigation or legal defence.

Locally hosted fonts

The website uses the Inter font as a locally hosted font file from this website's own assets. No request to Google Fonts is made for this font. Loading the font only creates an ordinary request to this website or its CDN, covered by the hosting and log sections above.

Steam store widget

This website embeds a Steam store widget from Valve. When the widget is loaded, the visitor's browser connects directly to Steam servers. Valve may process technical data such as IP address, browser and device information, request data, cookies or similar technologies and information about interaction with Steam services. If visitors are logged into Steam, Valve may be able to associate the request with their Steam account. The widget is used to show the Steam store presentation for Outage: Trespass. Provider: Valve Corporation, 10400 NE 4th Street, Bellevue, WA 98004, USA. More information: Steam Privacy Policy.

YouTube trailer embed

This website embeds a YouTube trailer. When the embedded video area is loaded or played, the visitor's browser connects directly to YouTube or Google servers. Google may process technical access data, usage data, cookies or similar technologies and information about interaction with the video. If visitors are logged into a Google account, Google may be able to associate the request with that account. Provider: Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland. More information: Google Privacy Policy and YouTube embed information.

External links and social media

This website links to Steam, YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, and X. If visitors click these links, they leave this website. The respective provider is responsible for the data processing on its own platform. We do not receive detailed information about what those platforms process after the click.

Press kit download

The website offers a downloadable press kit file. Downloading the file creates an ordinary web request, which may be processed in server or CDN logs as described above.

Screenshots and media lightbox

The screenshot gallery uses small preview images. Full-size screenshots are loaded only when a visitor opens a screenshot in the lightbox. The lightbox uses browser-side JavaScript and does not send personal data to us beyond the ordinary file requests required to load the images.

Contact by email or phone

If visitors contact us by email or phone, we process the information provided in order to answer the enquiry. This may include name, email address, phone number, message content, time of contact and any other information voluntarily provided. Routine enquiries are stored only as long as necessary to handle the request. Business, tax or legally relevant communication may be retained for statutory retention periods, usually up to six or ten years where applicable.

Cookies and similar technologies

This website does not intentionally set first-party analytics or marketing cookies. To the extent technically necessary information is stored or accessed on a visitor's device for website delivery, this is carried out for technical operation. Third-party embeds such as Steam and YouTube may use cookies or similar technologies under their own responsibility. Such technologies may be used for security, functionality, analytics, personalisation or advertising depending on the respective provider and the visitor's account/browser settings. Visitors can restrict cookies in their browser settings, but this may affect embedded third-party content.

Recipients and third-party providers

Recipients of personal data may include Cloudflare for hosting, CDN and security; Valve/Steam for the embedded Steam widget; Google/YouTube for the embedded trailer; and email or telecommunications providers where visitors contact us. If visitors follow external links, the linked provider processes data independently under its own terms and privacy policy.

Data transfers outside the EU

Some providers used by this website are based in the United States or may process data there. Data transfers may be based on adequacy decisions, the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, standard contractual clauses or other safeguards used by the respective provider. Third-party platforms may also process data outside the European Economic Area under their own responsibility.

Storage periods

We store personal data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose. Technical logs are retained according to the hosting/CDN configuration and may be kept longer in security or abuse cases. Contact enquiries are retained until the enquiry is completed unless legal retention duties or legal claims require longer storage. Data processed by Steam, YouTube, Google, Cloudflare or social platforms is subject to the retention rules of those providers.

Security

We use technical and organisational measures appropriate to the website, including HTTPS/TLS transport encryption, static-site deployment, limited administrative access and reduced local data collection. No internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

No automated decision-making

We do not use automated decision-making or profiling within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR on this website.

Minors

This website is a public information page about a video game and is not directed at children for the purpose of collecting personal data. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children through accounts, forms or newsletters.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, visitors may have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing based on legitimate interests and withdrawal of consent where processing is based on consent. Visitors also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data protection supervisory authority. For the address stated above, this may be the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestr. 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, Germany.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy if the website, hosting setup, third-party embeds, or legal requirements change.
